2022/23 Graduates - Analyst/technical

We’re looking for graduates who have a passion for solving challenging problems. Grads who are looking to grow in the data analysis or data science field. You might likely have an education background in Statistics, data science, engineering or computer science, but  you might come from any number of degrees because of how common the use of data is. This is for graduates looking to start at the end of 2022 or start of 2023.

The role

This is a team we lovingly refer to as the geeks, they are technical specialists, making use of data to solve client problems. As a graduate in our Analyst team, you will find yourself in a role with heaps of room for growth, and the opportunity to make a real difference. You will be working with clients and internal stakeholders (mainly analysts, project managers, and consultants) to deliver outcomes on exciting projects. It is your job to solve problems and help our clients better understand their business.


A week in the life of a Datamine Analyst involves:

  • Supporting the teams to plan, build, test, roll out and update awesome data-based and analytical deployments
  • Utilising a variety of data analysis techniques to provide insights from data
  • Delivering business intelligence solutions in an accurate and timely manner
  • Taking part in client projects, ensuring you stay on schedule and do your part to ensure a profitable project
  • Preparing a campaign for successful implementation, ensuring all steps have been followed
  • Adding your opinion into the project planning process
  • Asking questions, why?
  • Presenting findings to the Client Services team to report back to clients
  • Communicating with the Client Services team on daily basis regarding progress on projects and any potential issues
  • Ensuring your project documentation is up to date
  • Attending team meetings and ensuring you are contributing to the team hitting its strategic targets for the month and the quarter
  • Communicating effectively with your manager and team to support you as you continue learning and growing in your role and your career


You would fit right in at Datamine if you have:

  • A passion for data and the business insights which can be delivered through the use of analytics
  • Relevant Tertiary qualification (mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering science, data science, analytics, business analytics etc.)
  • Experience with R / SQL / Python or similar
  • Clear and concise communication skills. Can understand technical and business information and clearly explain work both verbally and in writing to technical and non-technical staff and client 
  • A confident and engaging personality
  • A hunger to make a difference – you don’t just tick the box
  • The ability and drive to build and develop relationships at all levels
  • An open attitude to feedback, both giving and receiving
  • A curiosity towards data and how it can be used to drive business outcomes
